Alpine Sport & Wellness Hotel Viktoria - Avelengo / Merano - South Tyrol

What you should not miss

Places of interest in Hafling:

  • The Romanic St Kathrein church with its Gothic apse dating from the 13th century, displays a well-preserved fresco from the 14th century and has a late Gothic Tyrolean winged altar – which can be seen only through an aperture in the portal.
  • St John parish church, with its prehistoric stone carving on the outer walls, is situated in the village of Hafling
  • Small (freestanding) Gothic ambry at the "Locherweg" path access leading to the "Nusserhof" farmstead.
  • Sulfner riding stables in Hafling – St Kathrein – breeding stables for the "Haflinger" horses in Hafling and surroundings.

Merano and surroundings

Cultural life in Merano and Environs has become both diverse and innovative in the past few years. The rich and varied schedule of events corresponds to the unique and eventful history of the region, and much has been accomplished recently.

The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle

A botanic tour of plants from all over the world on 12 hectares. The botanic garden of Trautmansdorff Castle in Merano truly deserves the quality mark “most beautiful gardens in Italy”, which it was awarded in 2005. And if there were an award for the diversity and individuality of the flora, it would certainly go to this garden.

Bolzano and surroundings

This is where the Isarco and the Adige flow into one another, the valley floor lying 265 metres above sea level, embedded in one of the world's most beautiful mountain landscapes. We are in Bolzano, the provincial capital of South Tyrol. Take a visit to the mummy Ötzi at the Archaeology Museum, visit the splendid curches in the city centre or relax in one of the many cafès.
