Your checklist for the Day Spa in Hafling above Meran
In short
When people wonder what to bring to a spa day, they usually pack too much. For a Day Spa at the Viktoria in Hafling (Avelengo), you don’t need a suitcase. Your bathrobe and towels are already in the wellness bag, and if you forget your slippers, reception has a pair for you. A few personal items are enough. What matters more is knowing the opening times, because not every sauna opens at 10.
What’s already waiting for you
Before you fill your bag, here’s what the Day Spa already includes:
- A wellness bag with bathrobe and towels. Leave your own at home.
- Slippers. If you don’t have any, we’re happy to provide a pair at reception.
- Vital drinks and teas in the Tea Lounge. No need to bring a full water bottle from home.
- Sauna infusions led by our sauna masters, with a themed infusion every day.
- A revitalising scrub in the steam bath.
- The gym.
Access to the hylèa SPA starts at 10:00 and covers both the DressOn area and the AdultsOnly area.
What to bring to a spa day: the checklist
- Swimwear. Pack it for the pools, and when you send your enquiry, ask how the individual areas work.
- Your own slippers, if you like. Not essential, since reception has them, but some people simply feel more at home in their own.
- Sportswear and trainers. Only if you want to use the gym, which is included in the Day Spa.
- Personal care items. A moisturiser for after the sauna, a hair tie, make-up remover.
- A book. The relax rooms open at 10:00 and are the right place to switch off between sauna sessions.
- A waterproof pouch. For wet swimwear at the end of the day, so the rest of your bag stays dry.
- Comfortable clothes for the journey home. After a day of heat and rest, tight jeans are the last thing you’ll want to put on.
What to leave at home
- Bathrobe and towels. They’re included and only take up space.
- Jewellery and valuables. Metal gets hot in the sauna, and the less you carry, the less you need to keep an eye on.
- The phone in your hand all day. Bring it by all means, but the day is calmer on silent.
The tip that makes a difference
The opening times to know
This is the tip that really makes a difference. You can come in from 10:00, but not everything opens at once:
- Relax rooms: 10:00–19:30
- Forest saunas: 12:00–19:30
- Family saunas: 15:00–19:30
- Event sauna: 16:00–19:30
- Infinity outdoor pool in winter: afternoons 14:00–19:00
So if you arrive at 10, start in the relax rooms and the water and save the hotter saunas for the afternoon. If the event sauna appeals, plan to stay until late afternoon.
What your day could look like
To see how the times fit together, here’s one possible winter day:
- 10:00 Arrive, collect your wellness bag, put on the bathrobe. The first hour in the relax rooms, Tea Lounge and WaterWorld.
- 12:00 The forest saunas open: time for your first sauna round, with long breaks in between.
- 14:00 The infinity outdoor pool reopens. With the Day Spa with afternoon snack, the restaurant serves until 16:00.
- 15:00 The family saunas open too.
- 16:00 The event sauna opens, a good moment for an infusion.
- To finish Shower, comfortable clothes, head home.
It’s not a programme to tick off. It just helps you avoid the most common mistake: arriving at 10 and expecting everything to be open, or turning up at 16 with only a few hours left.
Eating during your Day Spa
Going into the sauna on a full stomach isn’t a good idea, but neither is eating nothing all day. You have two options:
- Day Spa with afternoon snack: from 14:00 to 16:00 the restaurant serves patisserie sweets, fresh salads and savoury platters.
- Extras listed on the Day Spa page: breakfast (€35), dinner (€75, Monday to Tuesday and Thursday to Sunday) or gala dinner (€85, Wednesday and special occasions).
If you have allergies or intolerances, please let us know when you book.
